SANCTUARY HEART
Greenwood — the heart of the sanctuary.
The original preserve, where the foundation began in 1964. Greenwood holds the river corridor, the inland lakes and the quiet trails where students, researchers and neighbours first meet the land.

- Old-growth pine stands, cedar swamps and open meadows

WILDLIFE HAVEN
Elk Ridge — high ground for wildlife.
Rolling ridges and hardwood forest that provide critical habitat and cover. Elk Ridge is managed for wildlife first, with survey work tracking elk, birds, amphibians and reptiles year after year.

- Home range for part of Michigan's largest elk herd
